I’ve had this blog for almost 15 years and it NEVER fails that the late Winter- early Spring season seems to kick me sideways into the oblivion of “busy mom” and I look up and realize I need to say “hi, how are you…my name is Bethany!”
It’s been a wonderful season full of so many things – too many to even detail. That’s life with three growing kids and all that goes with raising and making sure they eat enough food that isn’t just frozen.
I’ve also been very active over on my Patreon page – painting and teaching up a storm, writing posts, and planning for the year. I post over there on Monday’s (video), Wednesday’s (art tip, lesson, or inspiration), and currently Friday’s are my Art Marketing 101 posts and video q&a!
I traveled to the Dallas area and up into Oklahoma recently to teach several workshops for the Johnson County Art Guild, to the Pastel Society of the Southwest, to OPSU Art Jubilee to act as their guest artist, and have more workshops in the plans! I love to travel and meet new artist friends and talk about the beautiful medium of pastel.
Currently over on Patreon, we’re studying underpaintings and I’ve filmed several lessons on exactly how I approach them. I’ve loved getting to know my little patreon tribe! It’s amazing to have this platform to reach the global pastel community. At my last livestream, I had students from around the world checking in. I am so thankful and grateful and humbled by their kindness, encouragement, and constant generosity.
We would love to have you join our ranks! I am launching a new tier coming soon over there to fill a need several have been asking for. It’ll launch in a few weeks!
In the meantime, this week my oldest son graduates high school. I can’t believe it! When I started this blog, he was 3. My heart is full of happiness and joy for him.
