It’s here!  At least for today.

Autumn.

I have smooth jazz playing, candles are lit, and the weather cooperated today and gave me some clouds and a cool breeze.

What is it about this season that invokes all the cozy feelings?

This past month on Patreon, we’ve been studying clouds and skies.  Yesterday was my monthly live stream on our private Youtube channel.  Thank you to all who came!  I felt like we were having a cozy painting party.  It’s always thrilling to “see” artists watching from across the oceans and I appreciate you all for your questions, comments, and enthusiasm!

This past week, I have painted around 12 paintings.  Life is hectic with school and orchestra and swimming practice and University work for our oldest and trips back and forth here and there. I crash in the evenings.

But here’s the thing…I also wake ready and excited for the day. I love the freedom but also the schedule I maintain to have a home business.  My hours are full but I am getting to choose my trajectory.  I am so thankful.

9 months ago when I began my Patreon page, I did so with a fair bit of trepidation. I knew it meant signing myself up for commitments and constant evolving deadlines. Creating content three times a week is hard.  Thankfully, sharing my love for pastel is not!

9 months in and I’m just so thankful for dear new friends, students, conversations, and community. I care deeply about my classes.  I want everyone to learn and grow. I want my tribe to fall in love with making and doing!  I can’t believe this is my job.

In the next two months I’ll be traveling to several workshops!

I’ll be in Michigan in October and in New York in November!  You can watch the video below to hear all about the subject I’ll be teaching on…I hope you can join.  (The Michigan workshop is full, the NYC workshop is almost full!  Email this address for more info: psaoffice@pastelsocietyofamerica.org

So, life is good and it’s almost October. Cue the Vince Guaraldi trio, please.

xoxo,

Bethany
