This was such a fun project I completed with my daughter three YEARS ago. Where does the time go? It’s on my Youtube channel and it is so fun to have this little time capsule of memory. She was so young and I remember bringing her into the studio and telling her I needed help with “one of mama’s videos.” She was so proud and excited. I had pre-selected the colors so she wouldn’t get overwhelmed and had it all set up!

I absolutely love seeing her precious little hands and remembering that fun day. She is almost a teenager now and I just can’t believe time has marched on so quickly.

The other day, she was here in my studio as I was uploading some new lessons to Patreon and Youtube. She saw her little heart image and said “those are MY hands!” She was so proud and I was happy she remembered. 🙂

This is a great EASY project for the young and young-at-heart. The products were easy to find and could be changed from pastel to markers or crayons easily. I love the pastels (um…duh!) because there is so much textural quality and edge work.

Teaching these concepts to children at an early age is so beneficial as they grow. Harder pastels would probably be the most economical here. Don’t go using any Roche for the kids. 😉

Happy Valentine’s! Enjoy those playful days…for your children, grandchildren, for YOURSELF. I remember I spent quite a bit of time playing with these hearts after she pranced off. It was important for me not to take over and dictate her selections or marks in anyway! I loved her bold color choices and soft and linear marks. Plus blue and red is just pretty. 😉

xoxo to you on this day of love!
