Okay.  Since I have named this "project week" then I guess I better have a project for the day!   I still have some plants to plant in the pots in the front yard and I still haven't finished (um…started?) my stool for the studio.  So….that is my plan for the day.

Just got back from the park where Colin had a *blast* playing with about six boys around his age.  Usually when we go, there are tons of girls (nothing against girls here) and it's hard for Colin to play with most girls as he's a bit…what's the word?  Rough and Tumble.  We had fun.

Benjamin and I sat on our blue blanket and ate chicken quesadillas from Taco Bell while Colin played.  We were there a good hour or so and Colin started to get *hot.*  He is so fair and just gets beat red in the face.  Then an older boy lent Colin his scooter and there is where it all fell apart.  Colin hasn't ever ridden on a scooter and, seeing how the older boys were doing it *on* the playground equipment (down the little slide and such) he decided that must be how it is done.  I had to intervene, take away the scooter and call "park time" over.  Colin was so hot and tired that he just melted.  Whenever this happens, you can't reason with him.  You can't "talk him down."  You just have to trust that it's okay and that you're not the worst mommy in the world or have the brattiest kid in the world.  He just doesn't want to stop having fun.  We left.  He's now in "rest time" and all is well in the world.

As my sister Jessica once said, "No one will ever be able to say that he isn't enthusiastic."
