Please tell us a little bit about your products and craftings. How did you come to "choose" that particular craft? Personal stories about creating in general?

I have always loved hoarding fabrics. Initially, I started the embroidery work pretty much how I started Scrapbooking, mostly from creating something different and unique from scrap fabrics. I would hoard bits and pieces of fabric, do swaps with other like-minded friends, and then it slowly evolved into something that I could identify with and create as my own style. I also get a lot of inspiration from my daughters. Kids do say the darnest things and I have always wanted to document down her growing up years. I started my shop selling my scrap works and embroidered items when my eldest was only 8months old (she is now 5 and I've a 2nd one who is 2.5). My earliest works were 'collaborations' with her, she would trace out her hand prints onto canvas, and I will then add on to that by embroidering the hand print and other embellishments, and to turn it into a meaningful photo album for documenting her growing years. When she was 2 yrs old, she was super sticky to her father, this formed an inspiration for a little lavender scented satchet with the saying "Cranky for You", which was what Gracie used to say to her Daddy.

How did you develop your personal style and do you have any tips for developing a unique shop/look?

I like to think that I've a very childlike / impulsive style, which is really how I evolve most of my products. I would like to put forward stuff which are relevant to myself, my life, and hopefully they are also relevant to other mothers out there. I'm still slowly learning and developing the look of the shop. I feel that it does not have a consistent look a the moment, and will be slowly refining and developing how the products are shot etc.

What inspires you?

Without a doubt, my 2 little girls and my relationship with them are the greatest inspiration for my works. I also get lots of inspiration online, from the other crafty bloggers out there, and from Flickr, who has some of my favorite images.

What is your favorite kind of cereal? (haha)

Hands down, it has got to be Honey Bunches by Post. 🙂

Name one area of you business or life you struggle with….i.e. organization, time management, too many ideas and not enough time?? 😉 How do you deal with this particular part of owning your own business?

I find the part that lets me down is the networking / planning for outreach etc. I find taking photos of the products, writing the product blurb, making sure they are sent out to the right channels, continuously listing on Etsy, that is the part that I do not have much time (and perhaps interest) for! On the other hand, creating actually is quite an easy task to slot into the daily grind of living. I craft on the go usually, to and fro school runs (i'm a back seat driver!) and when I'm waiting for the children at gym class etc.

How do you spend yours days when you're NOT creating? How do you unwind?

A good book or baking / cooking are my other pastttimes. Usually if I go to the library, that week of creating goes downhill!!

What is your favorite thing you've ever made and why?

It's hard to pick a favorite, but I would have to say they are the lavender satchets with the sayings that Gracie said. Mostly because they remind me so poignantly of that certain time in our lives, when she was a wee one. Time passes so quickly and I'm really happy that I have these tangible items around us to remind me of those wonderful times!
