My newest pastel painting time-lapse demonstration launched yesterday here on my Youtube channel!  I am learning a lot about video capture (what to do, what not to do…) in the process of filming my work.  My current set-up is not ideal….(ahem…camera balancing precariously on a metal stool, propped up by a roll of masking tape and foam while also balancing precariously on my great-grandmother’s antique four-poster bed) and I’m hoping to get some new equipment soon that will help capture my process and thoughts a bit easier.

I am in full-on moving mode as I’m converting my guest bedroom that is hardly ever used into a full-blown office and studio. It’s something I’ve wrestled with over the past several months as I love having a guest room.  It’s so cozy and homey but at this point in life, impractical.  It doesn’t get much use as a guest room and my painting and art have taken on a new level of intensity and focus.  I am hoping to incorporate those same homey touches (and maybe a fold-out bed?) that will marry the two together…a functional, workable space that allows me the movement and freedom to create while also being beautiful and filled with things I love.

I read this blog today about how to make your home feel like…well, home!  I loved the tips it gave about filling your home with things not so trendy, but with things that mean something to you.  It reminds me of this quote:

“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”

P.S.  I hope you enjoy the youtube video!  And please, do you have ideas about future installments?  Are there specific things you want to learn, know about, or have me explain?  I am all ears!
