I’ve painted around 170 paintings this year.  Not exactly one a day as my “daily painting” goal implies but I’m still pretty proud of the fact that I’ve painted as much as possible with three kids and all else that life throws at you.

I’ve seen steady growth in my confidence, frustrating losses of inspiration, breakthroughs of understanding, and consistent realization that I have miles to go in improving. I’m not discouraged though – the journey only excites me and I can’t wait to continue in 2016.

I’m making a goal in 2016 to enter more shows, attend my first painting class/workshop (TBD), continue to show my work as much as possible, to be more consistent with my newsletters, and to keep painting “every day” as much as I can.  I would like to paint more plein air and continue to develop my style in pastels.  I’m also interested in branching out into oil but have always been intimidated by it!  Maybe 2016 will change that.

Here’s to you!  Thank you to my clients for their support.  Thank you to my artist friends for their encouragement and wisdom , thank you to my family who never complain when I have to retreat awhile to go and paint, thank you to God for the ability and desire to create!  Goodbye 2015!

P.S.  2016 first event!  –  I am painting a demo for the Lone Star Pastel Society on January 9 at the Panhandle Art Center.  Mark it on your calendar and come on by!  Maybe we will all learn something together. 🙂
